I recently returned from Heffley Creek Rendezvous after 10 days of fun and relaxation. The link below should connect to a photobucket album of some of the events. Primitive camp had about 40 or a few more tents and total camps was 152. What is not obvious is that primitive is separated from the main firing range by a high dirt ridge of 50 feet or so and the smoothbore trail is shot from on top of the ridge, shooting away from primitive. The squirrel trail is in the trees behind tin town and had 19 metal squirrels on counterbalances so that they tipped down when hit and then righted themselves. Weather was beautiful with only one evening of rain. Almost forgot, there are some photos of council fire which was held every night and awards given out plus naming ceremonies and dry ball awards given. Dry ballers paid a fine of $2 to the kids hay scramble and two of the (un)fortunate individuals obliged to wear a embroidered bib for the next day. Written upside down on the bib was Powder Patch Ball. Upside down so that the shooter could lift the bib and read the instructions before loading :>) :>)
