Hello Everybody, From Edmonton

Hello from Edmonton, I've been lurking and reading. I plan on taking the plunge and getting my licenses shortly as finances and time allows.

I've only shot a few pistols, but I'm actually interested in 10m Air Rifle, Olympic style. It's pretty different than what most people here are shooting, but I still have to get the license, and register it. Hopefully no one minds that I won't be burning any powder what so ever (for now at least) :).

What I've noticed is the community that firearms ownership creates. As of right now I'm only on the outside looking in, but it feels/seems like a daily struggle against unfair stigma, assumptions, and prejudice.

It's also neat to see how this one hobby/interest/passion is actually many. I've learned a great deal about optics, clothes, hearing protection, general ingenuity, and in my case, scuba tanks/air systems along with many other things.

So hopefully I'll get the money and the time to pick this up, and I'm going to try to ask a question here while I'm typing.

For safety glasses is all polycarbonate the same? Will they all offer generally the same level of protection? The glasses I've been looking at are made by Clic. I wouldn't mind the Medical ones, but I like the looks of the Goggles and the Sunglasses better. They all say they have polycarbonate lenses, so would they be good for shooting? I will be shooting pellets, but if I'm indoor and the guy next to me is shooting something... just in case I guess. And by the style where they break apart, do you think the design of the glasses be a problem or a benefit?
