Well its been almost 3 years and I'm finally back on CGN after a seperation and divorce from my EX-Wife!!! :dancingbanana:

Lots has happened so I'll give you all the low down dirty story. I managed to get out of the divorce with all but one of my rifles, a new girlfriend :adult:, a new house, and even a dog. I'd say that I made out pretty well compared to others who unfortunately have to go through the same ordeal I did.

As for the missing rifle, well, although my partner is very understanding and wanting of me to continue shooting, building my collection of WW2 firearms, and reloading, she lost her camera on a 2 month trip around Europe. So when Halifax Police were having a guns for cameras amnesty, I swallowed my pride and turned in my worst rifle for her to get a new camera. It was a fair deal and solidified my ability to shoot and collect. (I plan on joining back at the range in Oct when the renewals begin).

Now for the sad part. Through the worst of times I had two things that kept me going. My cat, and my dreams of owning an M1D Garand being sold by E. Dana Smith in NS. Unfortunately that rifle has been sold a while ago to hopefully a better home, and my dreams are bashed. But I look on the bright side and am wanting some help. I am wanting to purchase a new rifle (preferably a sniper) that I can say will be the high point of my collection (i.e. Springfield 30-06/ M1D Garand). I do plan on putting a msg on the EE and taking a look there, but I'd thought I'd ask the community and see what the collective would suggest I purchase. I'm not going to be biased as to the suggestions. But hopefully I can find whatever you guys suggest. My collection thus far is as follows:
Commonwealth:
Lee Enfield: No5 JC
No4 Mk1*
Germany:
K98k: Mismatched Russian rebuild. Fun to shoot but not accurate at all.

US:
M1: Needs new barrel put on it. Have the barrel, just got to get the work done.

Russia:
M91/30: can be scoped but hasn't been yet. Barrel rusted a bit in the past but still shoots ok (don't know how it happened but hasn't since)
M44: Same problem, still shoots ok, wish it did as well as before it got rusted. (Wish I new how it happened cause they were out of the weather and kept clean. Moisture in the air is the only thing I can think of that caused it)

Ex's of wants for the collection:
Sniper (top piece of the collection): M1D/Springfield 30-06/Lee Enfield T, etc.
Germany: Luger/P38/another rifle
US: M1 Carbine/Pistol

Outside the collection: Anything you guys can suggest, haven't thought or looked outside the box yet.
So whatever you guys can come up with as suggestions would be great. I'm really out of ideas until I can find something to continue this collection on with.

A new girlfriend:eek: Wasn't your ex a new girlfriend when you first met her? Some guys never learn:p Anyway its good to hear you come out of the divorce unscathed (firearm wise) and good luck with the future ex:p

my wife spent 1500 on a new dog, so i spent 2000 on new guns! makes sence to me.

I sent $1500 on a dog and I also spent $2000 on new guns. Now, that makes more sense. How is this possible? Joint chequing account for the home front bills and separate bank accounts for our passions. Has worked for us for many years.

summerside sniper: good luck with your "new life"
