New to the site and also relatively new to shooting sports. (I just this last year got my RPAL after a nearly 15 year lapse of my FAC). I purchased one of nearly every popular caliber for handguns and intend to collect the remaining over the next few years including the ludicrous.460 Magnum.

I'm a member of DVC ventures in Vancouver BC, (Port Coquitlam actually) and several members of that range as well as employees suggested I sign up as did a couple employees at Reliable Gun, (despite my stated possible intention to purchase from members of this site instead of either of those fine businesses).

As with many older men, (I'm 43), I prefer 45's and of course my 44 but I'm also very fond of the newer poly wonder 9's and not at all interested in the 40 S&W's but may change my mind as most local ISPC comps are primarily shooting that caliber. I favor handguns as they are easier to transport and I don't have a long gun safe as of yet so other then my shotgun I don't have any. But since my handgun safe is pretty full up I may be purchasing a rifle safe in the near future so I can do a little plinking in the woods and hunting the elusive watermelon and cantaloupe with a non-restricted pistol caliber carbine.

Anyways I'm sure most of you stopped reading this after the first paragraph so Ta for now.

Welcome to CGN ;)

I went with a Ruger P345 and a high power. Couldn't find a 1911 of any merit less then a $1,000. May pick up a Norinco and do a little mod work to get it smooth. My real preference is for my 5" 629. But I'm currently working on a deal for a 357 Coonan for the best of both worlds.
