Hey all, I'm a begginer/ novice around guns, looking to learn more.
just passed my restricted test and looking to purchase some handguns.
Have a wife, 3yr old daughter, 1 1/2 old son and a 1 yr old rottweiler

Welcome to the forum. I grew up in Sundridge but am now in Manitoba, just got home from a week up there. Cant get enough! :canadaFlag:

.......and if you want to know where Trout Creek is........it's just down the road from Powassan!!!!

Welcome aboard SAWV, I grew up in Powassan and went to school in South River.......moving back this summer!!!!

Hooooley Cow there people...I lived in South River in 1984-1987 and attended grades 11-13 at Almaguin HSS, then went into the military for two years. Used to work at the "Happy Landing" ...now defunct! Parents are still up there in the Near North about 10 minutes West of South River on Eagle Lake.

Where can you guys shoot up there? Are there any indoor or outdoor clubs?
My wife and I still go up there a few times a year...
 
My grandfather and alot of old family friends use to have a deer camp between South River and Trout Creek. It was right beside the Granite Hill schoolhouse.... :)

How To join S.R. Gun Club?

Hi All;

I live in South River, and I just learned that there was a gun club out by the airport. I was wondering, who do you contact about joining? I only shoot non-restricted (30.06). I need a place to set up scope, and keep fresh for moose/deer season.

Know the feeling... passed my exam as well... now looking for some great info on firearms from people a bit more experienced.

Be sure to catch the "shooters rendezvous" in Sundridge next Saturday. Its hosted by the Eagle Lake Gun Club, so you can find out how to join if you wish! A few other local area clubs will be represented there as well, there's no lack of gunnutz around here!
