Looks to be a very interesting forum!

Hello from across the pond in the UK......

Contrary to pouplar belief, shooting is still a lively sport in the UK, but granted, somewhat restricted! I shoot and have been for nearly 32 years, (not bad considering I'll not be 40 till June!"), just about everything that's legal!

Longrange target rifle, small bore rifle, underlever carbines, rimfire semis, blackpowder rifle, percussion revolvers and shotguns! I hunt a little, but not much now........... work tends to get in the way!

I also reload and cast. In short, I'm just a gun guy!:dancingbanana:

Hope to have a long and fruitfull stay....

Welcome!

Welcome to CGN!

It's great to have you here!
It always amaze me to chat with European hunters and shooters, I can't imagine myself living in such a crowded area yet alone hunting there, it should take a lot of patience and ethics o hunt there...Last weekend I made 424 KM of snowmobile and I seen only another guy in the trail this day.... I hope one day have the chance to hunt in Europe and learn how to do it with the locals!

Bienvenue my friend!

Eric

Welcome Simon, I too came from the UK, born and raised in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and moved to Canada two years ago, the best move I ever made, Canada's a great country, much like what England was 30 + years ago before the rot set in

Hello to you from B.C.

Quick question for you, what is the deal with handguns now in the UK? Are any civilians allowed to own them? I know of a couple Luger collectors living in the UK who say they are all dewat. Which is too bad.

Nice to see people from around the world on this forum, cheers!

Hello from Nova Scotia. We all look forward to your observations of the world of guns and shooting in the UK and possible elsewhere. I am not involved in competitive shooting, but do collect odd sorts of handguns. Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome!

Yes, we're restricted in ownership of certain gun types, but we still get to enjoy some! Here's my current crop.....

And one or two additions made since the group shot! (Can't risk getting them all out of the cabinets again, till the wife next visits her mother!)

Welcome to CGN, Simon.
I'm looking over your photo, and I'm wondering about a few.
I suppose the AR15 is a manual operated one, sort of a bolt action or pump affair?
How about the pistols? I see loading levers in 2 of them, so cap and ball. What about the other 2? C&B or CO2?
Anyway, good to have you onboard.

tootall,

Yep the AR is manually operated.

As for the two other C&B's, they are Uberti. The Cattleman Blackpowder model. The cylinders are loaded off the gun, on a little press....
