Greetings CGN members! I'm Tim. I'm 21 and currently in the process of getting my FAC. I'm here to lurk for a while, for the purpose of making an informed decision when I go to purchase my first deer rifle. I've seen this forum mentioned over at Airsoft Canada, so I thought I'd drop in and see what info is available. From what I've heard from some of the ASC guys, you
all seem like a class act.

I started when I was about 8 or 9 with a .22 with my Dad. He has a Browning .308 lever action that I've shot a couple of times. I was at Quinte Outdoor Sports last week, and I fell in love with the Remington M700. The only problem I forsee is finding a lefty bolt action rifle. We're going to go to Kellys guns soon and take a look there.

Bypass Kelly's they have no stock only a pile of junk Remington 770's.

Check out Gagnon Sports in Oshawa and the Exchange forms here there are always lefty rifles for sale just make sure to do some reasearch and some more reasearch oh and and reasearch some more before buying used to make sure your getting a good deal.

dont jump on the first thing that comes up if you are just going to hunt Deer and smaller animals like say Coyotes I would look at .243's.

Never overlook Kelly's, he's the best guy in the area. Quinte Outdoor has a lot on the shelves but their "bedside manner" leaves a little to be desired unless they know you (I drop a few hundred a month in there and somehow have never had a problem with service, haha). Carra's turned into a good little shop, but their stock is hit and miss these days.

Welcome to hell...

When were you last in Kelly's? the only guns on the shelf the other day was a used Model 7 7mm rem ultra mag some used 12ga shotguns and a whole bunch of Reminton 770's that are priced over MSRP.....Carra's has has a bit more stock but still nothing great.....Even Quinte is hit or miss they have alot on the shelves like you say but not many calibers to choose from......I never liked the guys in there unitl recently I have had pretty good service in the last few months.

"Best Guy" in the area, not "most extensive shop in the area". If they don't have it, they'll get it. Anytime I need something ordered in that isn't elsewhere, I'll go through Kelly's.

If you shoot non-modern guns Kellys is a great place for parts & service. A couple years ago I went in for a replacement bolt for my old Mossberg M190 16ga bolt gun, he came back to the counter with 5 bolts and 4 complete guns. I walked out with the bolt.. and a spare gun to boot.

As well if you reload, he's your guy locally. Unless you shoot varmint cal's you won't find #### anywhere else.

If you shoot pistols, he's your only game in town. Keep an eye out there, I've walked out with a few real good deals.

I always go in to Kelly's wanting to buy something but always leave disapointed their great guys in there I just wish they had more stock and more ammo.

I will not wait on an order I will drive 3hrs to get the gun I want before I wait 4-6weeks to order it.
