Hello from Burlington !!

Hey Gang,

I'm new to the sport of shooting. Am waiting on my PAL and in the meantime have purchased a Glock 17RTF as my first firearm....it is being kept at the dealer until the paperwork comes through - and I'm so dying to get to the range with it.

I have yet to join a range. I am thinking that I will branch out into shotguns and rifles in the future so I guess would want a range that could accomodate all 3 if that is possible?

As well.....I'm looking for sources for cheap mags/ammo for the G17.

Any/all input, comments, suggestions etc are welcomed. I'm looking forward to using this forum as a tool and to network, what I have seen so far here is great.

Looking forward to chatting with some of you.

Burlington....my old stomping grounds. Well, let me be the first to welcome you to the sandbox !!!! Start looking into joining the Burlington range. It's going to be a while before you'll be shooting there. Waiting time to get into the safety course, taking the safety course, doing your 6 observation shoots, waiting for the board of directors meeting to get you fully approved, a bit more waiting until your full membership sticker arrives for your card....THEN, you can send in the word and they will apply for your long term authorization to transport for you....more waiting......sorry bud. I just want you to know what you're in for.

Or, you could just come out here to Alberta !!!!! :D

Hey......are they still ripping up the QEW ??? Is it anywhere near completion ???

Thanks for taking the time to reply and for the welcome. I have already done both the non/restricted courses, submitted my paperwork and and just now waiting for my PAL. WOW! Thats a crapload of hurdles....man o man....I better give them a shout.

Yes...lol...they are still working on the QEW....and define 'completion'.

Welcome! Good to hear of new people getting into shooting. Don't let the hurdles discourage you, the govornment has put them there on purpose to try to discourage firearms ownership. Play by the rules and buy lots of guns!!

I seriously can't believe how bad you guys have it in Ontario! If I had to go through that prossess to get an ATT.....wow. I would probably shoot myself! (But only with an unregistered long gun, cause once they are registered, suicide is impossible.)

Sorry I didnt do this sooner....thanks very much to all for the warm welcome. I Have already learned a bunch from the board and its' members and look to continue to do so.

I hope you all have a great loooong weekend. I still havent received my licence yet but did do my interview the other day so hopefully it won't be too long now. Until then I will be jealous of all of you who can go out a pop em off whenever you want.
