Hello! :p

I'm very happy to be a member of this forum!

I'm from Ontario, but moved to Fredericton a year ago.
I'm new to shooting... well technically that's not true... I shot a few of my dad's guns as a kid and had a little bb gun I'd shoot at the barn with
Recently I took the CRFSC in Fredericton (where I learned about this forum from a much more experienced shooter), joined a gun club and applied for my restricted licence... waiting now for the dreaded RCMP interview  lol

Interview for your Restricted FAC?

i dont recall anything about an interview. i did my course 3 years ago though...never heard of anything about it, or about it being 'dreaded'.

am i missing something?

The 'dreaded' thing was just a joke :p... but yeah I guess they call all (or most of) the new restricted applicants and their references now... http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=379878

Yes they called and talked to both me and my references when I got my RPAL a couple of years ago.
Very nice, polite woman on the phone that asked general questions like why I wanted an RPAL and what the primary use of the restricted firearm would be.

As for the references..,the questions were more along the lines of "did they agree to be a reference of their free will or were they forced to or threatened?" "Did they feel safe or in any fear for their safety with the thought of me possessing a handgun?" Pretty much just a verbal confirmation to the questions that they answered on the RPAL application.

Nothing that you need to dread, more of a formality than anything.
