Hello everyone;

I came across this forum after doing some research on my first firearm (outside of the CF). I was in the reserves for 5 1/2 years as well as the OPP.

My main hobby is Airsoft but since leaving the CF last year I've wanted to get a personal firearm. I've been doing alot of research on the Norinco CQ-a and think that it would be a great first firearm to purchase.

Anyways, thank you for letting me be appart of this very large community.

Welcome to the community Kyle. Since you're in my neck of the woods, if you like I would be happy give you a tour of a few of our local ranges and get you started that way. (I'm a member of BRG and Colby), both great ranges that have fantastic communities and activities.

That would be great! Ive been going around to a few ranges the past couple of days to decide which one I wanted to join. So far ive been to Bridgeport gun club, waterloo rod and gun. Today the plan is to go to the galt range (ive heard good things about that place).

Well it turned out that the galt range does not allow restricted rifles. Ive just heard about a place in St Annes that allows AR-15 style rifles. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone know of other places that I would be able to use the Norinco CQ-a outdoors? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

That statement from Galt is both true and false at the same time. PM me if you want more info.
