Hi all,

I'm in Lynden, Washington.... just a couple miles south of beautiful B.C... A customer recommended this site, so I thought I'd sign up and take a look around. Glad to see the firearms community is alive and well in Canada. Over the years, we've had up to as much as a fourth of our customers coming from B.C. We were previously called "Ace Hardware & Sports," and before that "Coast to Coast Hardware." (and even before that "Jude's Sporting Goods," started in 1957 by my grandfather!)

We've historically done FFL Import/Export Transfers at the border, and will soon have our new license for the new & expanded shop all set up. Stay tuned for that.

Looking forward to my new site membership,

Welcome Joel!

I’ve drooled in your old shop a few times. It was a nice place!

We have a mutual friend who is a Lynden bricklayer that shoots regularly at Custer’s.

Cheers!

You mentioned Coast To Coast.
Is your store in Lynden connected with the old CTC in Blaine?
They handled the FFL transfer and export of an Inglis HP Browning that I bought through Southern Ohio Gunworks many years ago.
A simple deal back then.

Oh and BTW, welcome to the mighty CGN!

Joel

Welcome aboard, I always try to grab a bite to eat at ' dutch mothers' when ever Im down in your neck of the woods;)

Welcome, Joel!

I used to travel to Lynden quite regularly as the border crossing there was way quicker. Not so much lately due to crappy US State Dept export regs.

I must admit frequenting the local Jack In The Box for the Sourdough Jack burger.
Mmmmmm, grease!

Bob's Burgers & Brew is the best!

The Mexican restaurant in the strip mall is good too!

The Homestead took a nosedive since they added on that tacky little barn to eat in (instead of the nice dining room.)

Welcome!
Read all about the lies, hoops, barrel rolls and whifferdills being put into place here and learn from them.
Don't let it happen to you.

MapleSugar, say hi to John the bricklayer for us next time you see him! He did the masonry around the fireplace in the back of our new store! :) Also, you're right on with Bob's Burger & Brew & the El Ranchito Mexican Restaurant - both excellent places to get a great meal. Best to you!

We're only connected to the old Blaine Coast to Coast in that we're good friends with the owner, Jerry. Thanks for the welcome, I'll check out the newbie FAQ. :)

El Ranchito! Thanks, I couldn't remember the name.

Actually, John and family introduced me to all the good eating spots in town years ago. I moved away from White Rock last year, but I miss Whatcom and Skagit Counties the most (oh yeah, and the Puyallup show.)

I’ve been awed by many jobs John has worked on. I assume the brickwork he did for you is top notch. I can remember him talking about helping you out when you were setting up your business. Best of luck to you!

I imagine you’ll be seeing him before me, but I’ll make sure I stop in and shake your hand the next time I’m on the Coast again.

Meanwhile, enjoy the forum!

Cheers!

Welcome aboard. From southwest Ontario. Family ties to the US , cousins in Kansas. Wifes favourite state is Washington. I've never been but I hear its worth the flight. Once up and running will you have permits to export scopes.?I heard there is some regulation re export of scopes and related equipment. Some stores can others can't re a federal regulation. Example Cabelas can't ship loading dies but Lyman from factory can.
If you can I'll float some business your way. Americans have always treated me well so it's nice to hear from you. Good luck re new shop.

Hiya Joel, welcome aboard

Vanderhoek huh? That's a good Canadian name:p. Well, via the Netherlands anyways :). You related to any of the Vanderhoeks on the BC side of the border? I went to school with a bunch.

I know there's a lot of connection between the Dutch communities around here and in Lynden. My wife and I both have some extended family across the line.

Good to see you here

I've been at your store a few times coming back through from either orgeon and washington. Great store, lots of great old hunting treasures in there thats for sure. If I had a trophy or mans room I could sure blow my salary buying all the stuff for sale there. My brother was looking for a sbe2 a while back and it was joke how much cheaper they were down in the states compared to up here.

Welcome aboard Joel, from rainy, windy Abbotsford..
You do have a most impressive store and we've been in a few times for powder and bullets, etc.
I'm sure you'll enjoy CGN, we have a terrific bunch of folks from one end of the country to the other. We'll be sure to introduce ourselves next time we come shopping.
