It’s been years since I have owned a gun; I gave them all to my son. Then this year I get this crazy feeling that I have to have a gun. My hunting and gun licence had lapsed long ago so I got busy and challenged the PAL test and passed it, and rushed to the computer and ordered a Mossberg Persuader from Cabela’s, in Winnipeg. I was like a little kid when it arrived by mail, got to hand it to Cabela’s it’s a great place to shop.
I know now that the Mossberg persuader is a beauty and a great security firearm but it isn’t a trap gun although it was fun shooting a hundred rounds at clay pigeons. The gun worked perfectly and it gives me a nice secure feeling knowing it’s in the house.
There is something about a pistol that captivates a person imagination so much so that they will go and take the restricted firearms course. The course was excellent and was taught by real pros in Saint John, New Brunswick.
What pistol to choose? There ain’t anything as pretty as an S&W MP 9 especially when they’re on sale for $599.00, with free delivery at Wanstalls. Wow, Wanstalls is an excellent place to shop on line - Gary is a genuine customer pleaser and he makes the Wanstall shopping experience come alive. The S&W arrived just as Gary said it would and again I was like a big kid waiting for his genuine Gene Autry six shooters.
I live about a hour and a half from the USA border and every once in a while we make the cheese run to the States and buy Cabot extra sharp, it’s good cheese. While at Wal-Mart I loaded up on 9mm ammo but they wouldn’t sell it to me, kept asking if I had a residency and I asked them if they thought I was a transient. I went to another store and bought 500 rds of Remington 9mm, paid cash and there was no problem - customs let you bring 5000 rds over the border.
In the meanwhile I had joined Irving Gun Club in Saint John and I took the little black beauty out to the range. The wind was blowing so hard off the Bay of Fundy that it nearly blew the gun off of the table but I managed to fire 50 rds at targets in the 50 yd range. Now I don’t say I’m a good shot but if I was shooting at an enemy combatant they wouldn’t be able to drink water again. The S&W MP9 performed flawlessly and hardly kicked back. I was the only person at the range, there was the wind howling off of the sea and the intermittent pop of the 9mm S&W. It was good.

Welcome. I'm a member at the same range for over ten yrs.

X2 on the wind out there. It sux for that. Fog can be a drag as well, esp in July. They need to rotate the range by 90deg to get the wind to the shooter's back. Might increase velocity too. :p
