Hello all,

I've been shooting hunting guns since I can remember. Got my license at 16, that was 10 years ago. Currently, I have a 12ga Browning BPS (w/ rifled barrel), .22 Remington Fieldmaster and a .300 WSM Winchester Model 70.

The main reason I've joined is my girlfriend has taken an interest in hunting, she can fire my 12 gauge just fine but it's too big for her. I'd like to check out the EE for a 20ga BPS micro.

I'm in the same boat... moved to Ottawa from Vancouver Island. We should gather all the Ottawa nuts up and go for a shoot before it gets too cold!

Jason Gunco also has a lot of used guns including handguns.

There are many handgun clubs in the Ottawa area. DCRRA/NCRRA at Connaught, RA gun club ( indoor range -IPSC is on Saturdays), Stittsville, Arnprior, EOHC, Smiths Falls, Grenville, Cornwall . This being Ontario, you pretty well have to join a gun club to use the range on your own, but you can come in as a guest a few times ("few" depends on the club).
 
Hey guys, just checked this thread again, thanks for the welcomes. Since I've joined the site, I've a) acquired a 10/22, b) found and shot it at the Stittsville range (50 yds might be too much for stock 10/22 with open sights but I still managed to squeeze off about 500 rounds) c) ordered the essentials (VQ hammer/extractor/mag release/bolt release) and installed them and d) found some nice crown land near white lake to go plinking with my girl and her fieldmaster.

I'm still looking for that BPS micro for my lady but am starting to consider just getting a used 12-gauge and cutting the stock down. After we find one of those, I'll get to Stittsville again to teach her how to break little clay things as well as try my shotgun with the 1900 FPS barnes expanders at 200 yds and 300WSM at 300 yards.

I think the Ottawa nutz are all due for a get together/informal shoot sometime in the new year... EOHC anyone?

depending on the scheduale and if i can find a sitter, me and the mrs could do a fun shoot should have my new gun finished and ready to break in by spring
