I've recently passed my un-registered and registered firearms exams and I'm excited to enter the ###y world of firearms! Can't wait to learn more about guns and to hopefully purchase a few. ;)

I think you mean unrestricted and restricted firearms exams. All guns must be registered, until bill C-391 passes. ;) Welcome to CGN. :D

Lots of clubs wothin an hour's drive- RA, Connaught Ranges, Stittsville, Smiths Falls, EOHC, Grenville, plus the QC side that I know nothing about:redface:. all have their unique features. there are acouple of threads on them that you could find by searching the site - use Ottawa as a search key.
 
On Saturday1 May, Andy from here will host his twice-annual (sometimes thrice-annual) Milshoot match. About 30 of the least stylish, but friendliest shooters! EOHC is a great pistol club, and they have a covered bench for 50, 100 and 200.

If you live in Quebec, having Restricted guns is more of a dance with the bureaucrats than the other provinces. But EOHC has many out-of-Ontario members who specifically shoot there because of the club's facilities/
 
Ooops, yes, you are right Kid, I'm a newbie you know, can't wait to start practicing. I'm planning in joining the eohc at some point in the coming months.

Im a member at the Smiths falls range. The facilitys are ok although they had some trouble on the rifle ranges last summer. Ministry had shut them down saying the birms were not high enough. I think the 100 and 200 yards are now open 300 is closed.

As far a price wise $125 a year to join its about the best your going to find around here.

Is there a possibility that the 300 yard range will re-open?
