Hello all at CGN. My name is Jason and the wife and I will be taking our PAL/RPAL courses and writing the tests the weekend of the 23rd of July.

CGN has provided us with valuable insight into our quest to own firearms.

A little about me,

I work as a licenced mechanic, other hobbies are guitar, muscle cars and hobby-grade R/C cars/trucks.

Used to mark targets for the Connaught Club many years ago.

Cheers!

Welcome to CGN! Make sure your lady signs up to, there is a ladies ONLY forum. My wife, Huntress on here, teases me about NOT being able to see that forum even though I'm a 'super mod'... ha ha

And... I get alot of ribbing about her pink Ruger 10/22 & pink Norinco M4... But... They are the best ambassadors for our sport I have ever seen when ladies are at the range. They just have to shoot them!

Cheers
Jay

See... I wasn't joking, she really has PINK guns! This is her shooting her M4.

And my old bosses son shooting her PINK Ruger 10/22. His first time ever at the range! (EOHC) He loved it!

Hi Jason; I'm also from Ottawa, and was wondering where you guys went for your PAl/rpal COURSES AND WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THEM TO US?? I just joined myself and actually called the Regional Police to find a course.. They didn't actually recommend anyone.. Thanks again;
Stef

The RA Centre offers PAL/RPAL courses.
Check them out.

We all love Huntress' pink Ruger, and chat about Jay all the time in the women's forum. (Oops did I let that slip?) Make sure your wife joins us there for some 'girl talk'. Welcome aboard.

Hello everybody,

My name is George and I am also new to CGN. I am a history buff and I am beginning to enjoy talking to people on this website. So far, everybody has been very helpful to me and I intend to return the favor.

One question that I have now... does anyone know anything about how long it takes for somebody (on the Quebec side, I live in Gatineau) to get an LTATT and who do I have to contact (QUebec CFO or the Surete du Quebec)?

In any case, I will be asking the same question in a different thread... I am just fishing for answers...

Thanks again.

Depending on your responses, I may go ahead and buy myself something non-restricted first, as opposed to having to wait for the LTATT for a restricted firearm....

Hey now... No talking about me in the girly forum!!! Huntress teases me ALL THE TIME that I can't see what's going on in that forum despite being a "super mod"... ha ha ha

YES, Col.Mantras, have your wife join, then get into the girly shop & she's good to go!

Cheers

depend, are you planning to shoot in Quebec or Ontario.

Ontario of course....the nearest Quebec range would be 1 hour+ out on the Road to Mer Noire/Maniwaki....

It is very simple .... if the LTATT is going to take a long while to get to me, I might as well go an buy a non-restricted, since I don't have to wait for any ATTs to get to the range and practice...

So, I am going to an Ontario range, not a Quebec one...
1. If I was to buy a restricted firearm, how long before I get the LTATT (Since I am a resident of Quebec, but I am affiliated with the NCRRA on the Ontario side of the river), and most importantly, who do I call

a. La Surete du Quebec
b. CFO of Quebec

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.... the truth is out there as they say....LOL
