Just heard about this site and since I collect enfields among other things I thought I'd join In. Thought I am in the way south I do have a No4 Mk1 (No bloody *) Longbranch and I've been to Halifax.

Welcome aboard. Owning a Longbranch No.4 has been suggested as a prerequisite to vote in Canadian elections. And, sailors around the world will agree that Halifax is a great city for a port visit.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I sort of wandered into Enfields I got a P-14 about 20 odd years ago abd then got a No4 Mk1, then a No1 Mk III, then a No4 Mk1/2 then a No5 Mk 1, sound familiar? Of late I have been restoring Restorable sporterised rifles got my Maltby and No4 Mk 1/3 that way. I also shoot in and run CMP Vintage Military Rifle (plus Garand and Springfield) matches so I shoot them in competition.

As the saying goes it is the Indian not the arrow, but there have been a few matches won by enfield shooters. Though the K-31s tend to dominate these days. My one, and only win, in a small local match was with my P-14.
