Hello from the T97 frontline

Hello. I am very impressed by the quality of this website. I learned about CGN by going to a gunsmith to inquire what I could legally do with a Type 97 rifle. He told me to get on CGN and correspond with other owners in the same situation. I am sorry I didn't see to do this first before posting about T97 issues but my haste was only driven by my timeline. Let me tell you a little about myself.
I live north of Fort St. John B.C. in the beautiful North Peace country. I used to live in the Whalley part of Surrey but I moved north when I saw you could get a decent acreage for the same price as a condo in Surrey. I do enjoy being able to sit on my deck and shoot. Five months of winter really is a small price to pay.
When all the T97 crap is over and done with I will still enjoy discussing topics on this website but for the time being I am focussing on the T97 ( Upcoming Court Battle ) I wish you all good shooting. Cheers!

Welcome to the site and sorry you couldn't be directed here under better circumstances. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how comprehensive and supporting the CGN community is.

Keep us informed as best you can about the T97 as time and legality permits!

P.S. I'd say you got a pretty sweet deal moving up to North Peace from Whalley.

Hello! I grew up in your area. Sorry to hear about your situation with the T97. If we ALL stick together (even non-owners) we stand a chance of setting a major precedent on our side. We gotta fight and I am happy to hear you plan to. Welcome to the forums...

Welcome aboard!

I do not own a T97, BUT contacted my MP on the issue of RCMP making decisions to prohibit firearms previously restricted. Who knows what gun they will decide is nasty next time!!!!

Together we win, divided we all lose eventually. Screw the antis.

BTW, that is lovely country up there in the Peace. Drove through back in '97.
