Hello from Upper Kennetcook Nova Scotia

Hello everyone I am an advid shooter and am getting into pistol shooting. Can anyone tell me what clubs are around me that offer pistol shooting as well as any stores where I can purchase pistols and accessories I live in the kennetcook area of NS thanks everyone and I am really enjoying this site so far.

Well by my calculations you're just about equidistant between Kentville (Annapolis Valley Sport Shooting Association), Truro (Valhalla gun club), and Halifax (Atlantic Marksmen Association and the Nova Scotia Rifle Association). AVVSC, Valhalla and AMA (and a little at NSRA) all host handgun shooting. AMA, my club, and AVVSC have indoor facilities as well as outdoor.

AMA and AVVSC both host IPSC matches. Valhalla used to but doesn't do it every year anymore.

Your best bet is to visit each of the clubs and ask what they offer. The cost of membership might also be a factor.

There isn't any retail stores in the area that sell handguns to my knowledge but several places sell ammo and accessories. Your best bet is the Army Navy store on Agricola street in Halifax. They sell firearms as well as ammo. Not much in the line of accessories though.

Army Navy store on Agricola street in Halifax is a good spot as long as your not getting anything considered ""dangerous"" like 00 buck or JHP.45's you will be fine. Also look up Hnatiuk's in lantz http://www.hnatiuks.com/ . they sell hand guns and some accessories. as well as Viking Police & Security Co http://www.vikingpolice.com/ T hay have holsters and some other accessories. hope this helps.

you might want to look in to joining a good range. im a member of MVRRC http://www.mvrifleandrevolverclub.com/ in Musquodoboit. They fill my needs.

Thanks for info everyone just one more question are there anyplaces where I can store a pistol like a gun shop or a club that does it?
 
welcome , I have shot at all the clubs mentioned , all great guys/ gals . Lequille country store just outside of Annapolis stocks a few handguns as well as a large selection of long guns. Get names and drop into the different clubs on handgun night to see and likely try different guns so you can see what you actually like . I shoot out of Lunenburg , also on the IPSC schedule.
