Hey all,
I am a student at UVIC and currently here on a Study Visa for the next 4.
Am a yank, who at home prefers to pop away with the .22 and USC.

Not a newb for shooting, however am an amatuer in it.

Hope to be around for awhile.

Welcome to CGN! Not only can I welcome you to CGN, but to UVic too:D

You'll find there's a number of gunnutz and a lot of firearms owners at UVic once they realise that they aren't talking to the run of the mill yuppy bunny huggers that are usually found on campus.

Send me a pm and we can probably meet up at some point.

yuppy bunny huggers

Hey, I resent that comment, I'm a new gun nut with 2 rabbits... :p

Welcome to Victoria! I live just down the road from the campus and like to head up to the Malahat range to try out my new .22, plus other toys coming soon...

Victoria Timmies meet anyone?

sounds good

im in. Like to actually Meet a Canuck gun nut. Talked to a few over on CGS (Canadian Gun Slingers), but not actually met one. Im lacking a car right now so I'd need a ride. Can help for gas though.

Welcome! One thing about Uvic is you might get too sidetracked by all the beautiful women to think about shootin' for a while!

Time for a Victoria Timmies meet thread, methinks...I remember there was a thread about that a while ago, maybe I'll revive it.

I'm just getting into shooting as I just got my dad's old Browning semi-auto .22 takedown. Neat little thing, don't have to rack it on the wall when the range is cold, just take it apart :p We should all head up on a Sunday or something.

No disrespect meant - I actually like rabbits for the most part. (and no, no witty comment about "I like them a lot, with ketchup:D)

Starting to get a little colder, they're staying inside and dressing more warmly now:(

Would I assume a malahat meet up? This sunday I'm buggered, but I'll need to head up a sunday in the next few weeks to sight in if anyone's heading later on.

Sounds like a plan. This sunday doesn't work either for me. How's Oct. 5th look?

Er, just looked at the Vic Fish & Game calendar, they have PPC and IPSC on the 5th. Rifle range and Multipurpose are closed :( On the 11th and 12th, the Multipurpose range is open. The Rifle range won't be open on a weekend until the 19th after 2pm....

lol we just keep getting shafted. I can't do Turkey day Weekend, Family is up from stateside.
Lets set a date soon...

Ah yes, good times at UVic. I hear that those bunnies are pretty tough.

On the 5th of Oct, the rifle range will probably be done with early in the afternoon. In the morning there is a match for the match committee and volunteers that are working the Vancouver Island Combat Championships (PPC Match) the following weekend.
