been lurking long enough, thought it might be about time to say hello, i'm 22 years old, and my name is Fred, i'm not into hunting or anything but I really do enjoy target shooting/plinking, and bought myself a .22 to get back into it Marlin 795, and put a 3-9x32mm tasco scope on it. aswell as a bipod, great rifle, I am very happy with it.

when I was about 9 years old I was out shooting with my dad and my brother I was shooting an older bolt action .22 and i'm not 100% sure what happend but the bolt didn't close all the way or something (it locked in fine) and the back of the cartrige blew out and I have had several particles of brass in my eye eversince, I can see fine out of it, but I can also see particles when i look at a white wall or read a book etc. it could have been alot worse i'm sure, people take note, shooting glasses is a good idea, eversince this insedent, i've maybe fired off about 10 rounds total. (till about 2 weeks ago when I got my 795, has about 700 rounds through it ;) )

I am happy to be getting back into it, and hope to get to know some of you, I will post pics of my rifle soon.

Welcome! Lots of good shooters in your area and active clubs.

Also, glad you can still see well, I'm betting you won't be one of the people at the range complaining about having to wear eye and ear pro while shooting eh?

thanks, there are quite a few move vancouver island people on here then I expected, its great.

i'm defenatly one to encourage eye and ear protection  no complaints from me about that, i'm still looking for safety/shooting glasses that fit over my normal glasses without being to wide/goofy though.
