Greetings All-

So, I've been around here for a while now, lurking about in the shadows. I was introduced to the site about a couple of years back at this point. Anyhow, I've always wanted to shoot paper & got a chance a while back to do just that. The bug has bit me ever since. I've been quenching it with CO2 Airguns, but that just isn't the same at all. So, between that & the worry about the forthcoming elections I thought I'd better get in there quick so to speak while I have a chance. So, taking the courses for the restricted PAL in early October. Should be a fun time!

Anyhow, that's all that's appropriate for this area, but if anyone knows any good restricted handguns for shooting paper, please PM me. There's such a selection & I'd hate to waste money when I don't have much of it!

Thanks-

Kent

It sounds like you want a .22 pistol - and I think that's a great place to start. I'm in North York/Willowdale too, so no worries if you ever want to meet up (PM me); if you want some range time, I go to Silverdale whenever I can.

Welcome aboard, Kent!! :D
As cyclone pointed out, a .22 is the best point to start out.
You can't go wrong with either a Ruger or a Browning.
Try out as many as you can so you can see what you prefer.
If you're going to be in the K/W area, give me a shout and I can get you out with a couple.

Funny you should mention the Ruger's - I've always liked the look of them. Not sure if they are good or not, but I'll take what you said as a vote for them being good.

Thanks very much for the offer - I'd be into that. I'm currently looking at different clubs et all, so any info is appreciated. The chance to check something out, well, even more appreciated! Once I get my PAL, I'll be checking out as many as I can. Hopefully I'll be able to buy something cheap initially, and then improve, improve & improve. With my current experience, I don't see accuracy in my first firearm being as critical initially. Heh, I'm not.. Yet..:) But the next few months should be a very interesting time indeed!

Thanks!

Kent

Welcome aboard. I also started with air pistols not that long ago. They'll always be fun to practice CQB, IDPA, CDP, etc. in your own home. So, don't get rid of them.

As you know, this is a great community. You'll never know when you'll meet a CGN'er, even in Toronto.
