hello, i am thinking about getting m1 carbine and reloading m1 carbine ammo . how hard is it? i been reloading 223 and .45, 40cal ammo for 8 years but i have no idea whats like reloading 30 cal carbine rounds.
thanks, any info will help alot.
ps i would like to get 30 rounds mags and para stock, where is the good place to start ?

Get carbide dies, it will be the same as loading for a pistol.
Marstar sells 5/30 mags and repro para stocks

Ditto on the carbide dies...I got Lee and they are really top notch.
WW296 is the stuff I use with 110 Hornady FMJ.
Stick to standard load and it will shoot just fine.
Had my IBM out at the range recently and fired 20 rounds at our 100 gong...6 inch diameter, over a range/tool box, not a good rest...missed twice...got bored hitting the gong(18/20) so went home.
Cheers

thanks guys.i checked out marstar and they are out of both stock and 30 mags. i am thinking about get from us like ebay what should i do?

reloading m1 carbine is easy just like pistol

use dillon case lube spray makes it even easier

Bullets from marstar I use h110 powder

brass can be hard to find (guys want WAY too much $$ for it)

"...how hard is it?..." It's not. As mentioned, use a carbide sizer die and load it the same way you anything else.
"...30 mags...get from US like ebay..." You can't have a 30 round mag(prohibited devices) unless it has been pinned to 5 rounds. You won't be able to import one that hasn't been pinned first either. Large capacity mags require the U.S. export permit.
Buying or selling on E-Bay financially supports the people who think you shouldn't be allowed to own any firearm. Most of the Brady Campaign(rabid anti-firearm ownership lobbyists) supporting sellers on U.S. E-Bay won't ship to Canada either.
"...brass can be hard to find..." The demand has gone way down since the carbine was put on the Restricted List in 1978.
In any case, being restricted, you're unlikely to get an ATT to shoot a carbine anyway. You can't hunt with it either. However, Speer 110 grain HP's with IMR4227 and regular small rifle primers have worked flawlessly out of mine for eons.

This is the second time you have said this. Is this something I have missed. How is it any different than taking your AR out shooting?
