Welcome to the addiction, your going to love it or hate it
First step, read the stickies and take it apart, clean it and grease er up
Then do the tilt test and the hammer test ( really simple and essential for safety and peace of mind and very well explained in the stickies )
NEVER load single rounds into the chamber, there is a world of hurt waiting there. Load from the mag and let that bolt fly home, don't pussy it.
Any axle grease or cheap synthetic works, I like white lithium cos I can see the #### when Im putting it on. A nice curved syringe is your friend here.
Don't frig with the bolt unless you have to, just keep the firing pin and bolt face dry.
Keep the gas system dry as well, no grease and no oil.
Don't write a shopping list until you've shot the thing a while and tweaked it as per the stickies. Some of these Norcs are VERY capable.
Use the surplus for plinking, but for any degree of accuracy you are going to get interested in reloading unless your pockets are deep enough for Match ammo.
Keep the pills below 168 with the gas on, I have the gas off for anything over 168.
Get some good ammo and establish a baseline before ANY "upgrades".
Most upgrades are cosmetic or tactical and have no significant effect on the gun.
Doubt your own abilities as a shooter, don't always blame the gun. It takes a lot of range time to get used to this platform.
But when you do

)))
Leave the sight alone for now. Is it too tall or canted off to one side ?
If its canted off, see if it shoots straight. If it does then live with it or get a replacement Flash hider.
Keep asking questions someone on here will have the answers.
Don't be afraid to work on this gun yourself, you are VERY unlikely to damage it.
Its a military design and was built "soldier proof ".
Many people refer to it as a turd that needs polishing, but when you've finished polishing you do end up with a mighty fine turd in your hands, at considerably less cot than you might think.
