Hi everyone,
I'm from Calgary, AB. I'm a software developer professionally and a pilot as my main hobby and I am now picking up a passion for firearms as well. I apparently never plan on retiring or having any savings. I am probably everything that's wrong with the economy. Sorry.
I've got a nice new Savage Mark II which I have been enjoying a lot when I go up to the range in Hinton (family lives there). What got me into the hobby is when my highschool best friend got back from the military. He had found an interest in guns while serving, and shared it with me. He also enjoys inventing zombie-apocalypse fan-fiction, so we come up with some pretty ... interesting stories.
Unfortunately he lives in Ontario so I don't get to see him as often as I'd like, but getting to play with his guns, eventually I started to appreciate that I had a hell of a lot to learn. So I decided to take the course, get my PAL and learn to be a better shooter. My main goal is to practice marksmanship, which I am currently pretty awful at. I don't plan on hunting, I just enjoy the challenge of trying to punch holes in paper and other inanimate objects consistently.
Anyway I have a lot to learn but I'm having fun so far. I also spend a lot of time on reddit, including canadaguns a bit recently. Say hi if you see me there.
And in case you can't tell by all the BS above, I have also chronic verbal diarrhea and constantly write WAY TOO MANY WORDS even in a silly introduction post.
Congrats to you if you read all that, have a beer, on me
