Hello There from the Toronto area

Hi Folks, I'm Jeremy, and I'm glad to have found this forum. I have been a recreational shooter of air rifles (mostly) and air pistols for many years, though last year, I got myself a rimfire autoloader, and shotgun and am currently looking for a place I can target practice. I love the outdoors, enjoy camping and fishing (though I am not very "successful" at either) and unlike many people, winter is my favourite season of the year (I used to live in Edmonton, so frigid winters are the norm for me). I love barbecuing in the winter - the colder ,the better.

I am originally from Hong Kong, but came to Canada when I was around 4 years old. Been a proud Canadian since. I currently live in the Toronto area, though I am more of a suberbanite...

I am a thirty-something happily married father of two little ones. My educational background is in Christian theology (yup, I have a theology degree, which is pretty uncommon nowadays). Was formerly an elder at my church. Volunteer lots in kids' programs. I used to be a record reviewer and an assistant editor for some college magazines, but now I am working the dull and monotonous job of information technology (very bad industry to get into these days with copious amounts of layoffs) as a technical team lead.

I enjoy reading, cooking, golf, hockey, and of course...shooting. I enjoy flossing as well, though I suppose that is more of a mandatory hygeine practice than it is a hobby. But I digress...

P.S. - By the way, my login name is a typo - it's supposed to be "thegazelle", but it was late last night when I created my account and I had just stubbed my toe while I was cleaning up the kitchen (my wife is trying hard to domesticate me by the end of year timeframe).

Haha, yes, I just re-read it and provided some edits...I cringed when I realized how much my introduction thread resembled something from a personal ad.

No club affiliation at the moment. Mayor David Miller had essentially shut down two of the Toronto gun clubs and right now I am looking for somewhere to shoot, though not necessarily a club (that being said, I am going to check out Uxbridge Shooting Sports next week or the week after - that came highly recommended to me by a colleague who used to be a firearms instructor (as you can imagine, there's not a whole lot of firearms enthusiasts in our office in the middle of Toronto).

Thanks for the welcome!

You might like Silverdale. They wll let you camp on weekends, so you can shoot, sleep over and do it again the next day.
