Not so new but it's time for a formal introduction. My name is Dustin. Live on beautiful Vancouver island and have been shooting for less than 2 years. Although I picked up a 22 when I was quite young it wasn't till recently I graduated to "real guns". anyways. After getting my pal a couple years ago I put off buying my first rifle for some time. Too long really. But after my first soon came my second. And third. And forth. Before I knew it I had purchased 6 new and used shotguns and rifles. Many of them impulse buys(sks comes to mind). A couple dozen books later and hours/days on forums like this....I've gotten it bad.
I've calmed down a bit on new rifles. Just got a husqvarna fn98 that I am working on. I'm a carpenter and just a general good guy around a shop so I'm going to attempt some minor gunsmithing and see how I progress....
Getting back to the husky... Geez. First few guns I bought were savages and Russian military rifles. Put a fn actaion in my hands and the need for tula vanished pretty fast.... No offense to the sks nuts. I did like the svt but was offered what I thought was a good trade and couldn't justify a semi "just for fun". I hava a HUGE apreciation for quality that I aquired working in trades. Most expensive things are expensive for a reason. Usually because the manufacturer doesn't cut corners and makes a product that functions as it should. This era of making object that look like something but don't funtion as such... BS. Anyways I'm rambling away here. Hello again. Look forward to reading all your great informative posts and sharing what I may know....
