Hey everyone!

Not my first post here, but just wanted to say hi to the community. Just received my RPAL here in BC and went out and got myself an SKS and semi-auto shotgun the same day... couldn't resist! Got some cleaning supplies to strip and clean out that wonderful cosmoline on the weekend... yum (any tips welcome)! Waiting on a range membership (@ Mission range) to get my restricted goodies, so in the meantime will be doing some shopping for the non-restricted stuff. ...............[removed]................. :D

Cheers!!

Welcome buddy! A tip on removing cosmoline: The stuff gets really thin when it is heated. It is easy enough to remove from metal parts, but you'll notice that when you're shooting, especially outside in the heat, cosmoline will sweat out of the wood, even if you thought you wiped it down really well.

Some people either just let their wood stock lie out in the sun for a while, or even put it in the oven with a drip tray underneath to sweat it out from the pores.
