Greetings from Vancouver Island. I just wanted to introduce myself to you and say hello. Names Jim, and I have been hunting since I was a kid. I use "strange" rifles, and have good success with them. I grew up in Eastern Oregon, hunting mule deer. As a kid I inherited a Winchester model 88 in .284 Winchester. Did some fine work with that thing! Came to Canada and got a M-96 Custom Swede in 6.5x55. It works for me! Nice to meet ya, good to be here. J

Hi Jim, welcome to CGN. I used to live on the Island myself, in various places: Comox valley and up in Port Hardy. I live an hour west of Kamloops these days, where are you?
btw, if you edit your original post's thread title to something like "Hello from Vancouver Island", you'll likely get responses from the other shooters there.
And here's my usual pitch:
If you're not already a member of the NFA and/or CSSA, please join. These firearms organizations work on our behalf to ensure that Canadians can keep and enjoy their firearms. They are our voice in Ottawa, and we need all the help we can get. Click on the links in my sig line for more information.
Again, welcome aboard.

No doubt that C-68 is not about gun control or crime control. I am all for gun control, and I control mine completely. I will checkout your links, as I am interested in keeping some rights for all of us. And thanks for the tip. Good to make your acquaintance.
