Hello from south of the border. Found this site on a recommendation from a friend. I enjoy all types of firearms, but my real joy is long range tactical/precision shooting.

Welcome Longeyes sounds like you might have been a Marine sniper or is that just your choice of shooting sport? Has anyone down there equalled our corporal Furlong"s one and a half mile sniper shot in Afghanistan?
 
No I'm not a Marine or a Sniper those people are deserving of a respect that I could never hope to equal. I just got addicted to the boom-- ssssss ---ting, of ringing steel a long way off and I get bored with shooting from a bench. The challenge of doing the ranging then figuring out the dope is way cool and adds to the overall satisfaction. My longest is a little over 1100 yds but not consistent yet. And I haven't heard of anybody doing a longer shot than your Cpl---that was an awesome shot that deserve big time kudos
 
Excellent shooting sport long range, takes some planning and preparation. From what I heard about Cpl. Furlong's shot he saved a bunch of Marines that were pinned down and he was glad to help save some fellow troops.
