Help 5r milspec or 700 police

I have a 20" Sps tactical in a Tac 21 chassis that's magical out to 500yrds, but I needed to try a long range tack driver. I wanted to stick with 308 for my AI build for the simple reason of loading for one caliber. FYI this build cost me the same as a 700P would have with a couple tweaks, I would have to say I faired out way ahead of the game IMO

For a factory barrel, Remington still produces one of best on the market. Their QC may have slipped in other areas, but every single one I've bought over the past 20 years has been a shooter. I've still got a dozen in my safe and must've owned at least 30 more over the years that have been traded or sold. The last three I've picked up over the past year or so, were all sub-MOA shooters, including a 700P & VSSF-II. For a guy on a budget, they're still a good choice.

The older one are def a plus.

Thanks for the info gunboy, but I've gone another route I had an AI 2.0 waiting impatiently for partner and this is what he got:
Pierce MI multiflat action, pierce 20 moa rail
Shilen #7 contour select match 27" in 308 10-1 twist, cut down to 24" adding a brake soon
Timney #510 trigger
Should have ready to shoot in a couple weeks

Where did you source a Pierce action within two-weeks if I may ask???
