I hand load for a tikka m65 in 7mm rem mag
I have been loading rem brass with Hornaby 162 sst
And had no problems . I decided to spend a little more on brass
So I bought Hornaby brass and loaded it with all the same loading specs .
it will not fit in my chamber . It almost like the brass is over sized and yes it is rem mag
Any thoughts or comments would help

Did you run it through your sizer? I loaded some fresh brass when I first started reloading and when I went to seat the bullet it pretty much just dropped into the neck. As the ultimate_monkey said, run it through your sizer and you might want to check it's length before you go through the bother of priming, powder and bullet. I'd start by putting the caliper to it first just to see if it's too long or if there's a defective lot out there and the belt is off. Never heard of it, but I know nothing in the grand scheme of things.

The last time the USA went on an insane buying spree I felt Hornady QC was a little off. Wouldn't be suprised if there's a few funky lots of bullets/brass out there.

Funny thing is when sizing it fit funny too was stiff going into die .
I thought it was a bit odd , not over pressured when seating .
Bullets seat great .
Funny that they won't go in and it's like the case is to thick at about mid point
I don't think it's the length they won't even go in that far

Did you compare it to your old brass? There's your proof.

Hopefully it's not a case of the machines running too fast to keep up the QC. I had a few boxes of Match bullets a few years back when the last mad run on everything on the shelves happened. Trying to seat them all at the same depth drove me mental. I just gave up on a box and used them for fouling shots.

A lot of M-55 and M65's that I have tinkered with over the years seem to have nice tight chambers you would think some were cut with a match reamer , maybe your rifle has a tight chamber and a small base die might work for you, although if it is new you shouldn't.

Do you know someone with a 7mm mag that you could compare.
If not and other brands of brass work fine in your rifle I would try and return the hornady stuff .

At the base of the body right above the belt the diameter of the brass may be too large. Your full length Die should take care of that. If the shoulder of the brass is too far forward, again the brass will not chamber. A forest datum dial that attaches to your dial caliper will measure that. You will need a shoulder bump die to push the shoulder back if that is the case. The 3rd and obvious is your brass over all length is to long. I will asume you checked and trimmed the new brass
