which of these pistols would you buy? I've shot both the baby eagle and the S&W, liked the eagle for it's weight, liked the S&W for it's left-handed capabilities.
sorry slimbo, i was still creating the poll when you posted.

which one of which pistols? If I had to choose one 9mm in a low price range it would have to be a norinco np29 with a clean up from gunnar at Armco. Either that or try to find a good used BHP.

Since you are being a cheap bastard... you might want to scratch off the Baby Eagle from your list... have you seen the price of their magazines??

Price out the cheapest mags for the above (probably the CZ) and go with it.

~Cheers

Given your list I'd say go with the CZ. They're quite versatile, fit most people better than the average 2x4 gun, and are a classic original design. They're also well made and reliable. (the 9mm Norc 1911 is probably a better buy, though - or you could get a .45 in the Norc for less than any of those 9mm's)

M&P is a winner for a ton of reasons. The XD (which you thankfully didn't list) is a loser for a ton of reasons too. Parts availability being just one. Same thing for the Baby Eagle. come out again tonight and play with a few more toys.

I've had the opportunity to shoot all of your listed choices and liked the M&P enough that I bought one. Fit my hand best, liked the sights & interchangeable backstrap and it shoots well.

well dont know about the other ones but i have a m&p 40 got it cheap from marstar and have not had any problems with it shoots nice and fits nice in my hand being left handed the ambidextrous safty is a nice feature

Of the ones you listed I picked the S&W M&P. I've owned a Baby Eagle and pre B CZ 75 and they were very nice shooting guns as well. I don't think you'd go wrong with any of the three. In the case of the BE, just be aware like Slavex said that mags are expensive and accessories and parts may be hard to find. I know there a lot of XD fans on this board, unfortunately, I'm not one of them.

I have a CZ-75 and I know 3 others whom I shoot with who have CZ-75's. Very reliable and accurate out of the box. CZ-75 is basically the same as the Baby Eagle for mass and general size/fit. For value, hop onto the CZ bandwagon. I've tried the M&P and it was a very nice feel, as is the XD, but to me, I like the mass of the CZ.

Cz

Of your choices I'd go with the CZ series pistols. The real deal ones, not the Norc knock-offs, too.

But personally, for a double stack I prefer the BHP...

G19 coolest glock going.

DAMN...this coming from a CZ man himself???

You must be hanging out with CO too long and his collection of Glocks!!! :D

I must admit though, the G19 is purdy after I had the chance to handle CO's pimped up one and, afterwards, seriously thinking of buying one.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the CZ and BE mags are interchangeable?
And my vote would prob be for the S&W but i've never shot one. It's on my very short list for a 9mm though.......

I'll go with the CZ, and especially since you are a cheap B*****d, you can get the cadet conversion kit

Don't get afterwarket mags, I had 2 Pro-mag and the drop free doesn't work on one of them.

Just remember that the Baby Eagle is basically a CZ75 with a nicer trigger out of the box, a longer dust cover, and is made in Israel, where they are currently using them in military service. It fits my hand VERY well, and is an absolute tack driver. It's my choice out of your pistols.

My next purchase, awaiting RPAL in mail.CZ75b Tu Tone
I also considered M&P and will probably buy one after a 1911.
