Where to go, how much to buy, 5000 rounds of what?

Wouldnt mind stocking up on a ton of 22 seeing whats going on down south and worried about supplies for the coming year.

Im shooting steel from 100-200, maybe targets at 50. Would CCI blazer be a good bet?(not knowing how my CZ 452 will like it) Since it is high velocity- would it tend to buck wind a bit better than the federal/american eagle bulk bricks?

Dont know ^$^% about 22lr ammo help me out CGN!

Step one: Find out what your rifle likes the best.

Step two: Buy 5000 rounds (or more) of that.

Step three: Enjoy.

I would try to go to SFRC and see if they can bring what you need in.

Almost everyone and almost every gun likes CCI Blazer.

And Canada Ammo has it in stock, with free shipping. I would call them and ask if they can offer any better price on 5000 rounds.

i got 5000 rounds of reminton yellow jackets they dont cycle in my 10 22 very good but 1500 fps i cant complain at the price i got them

pretty hard to go wrong with CCI mini mags. about twice the price of bulk, however, and the 40gr stuff doesnt seem to exist anymore. IMO the best deal right now is 4x Federal 525 boxes with an ammo can for $95 at Cabelas. Assuming your guns like FC, and you can use a new can :)

Just took my Sako out today for its first firing and CCI ammo shot quite poor...was dissapointed. Shot Winchester 333 into bug holes so I went to Wal-mart and cleaned them out of the 555 Bulk packs. Yellow Jackets shot best in the hyper stuff.

Cheers!!

Out of all the bulk .22 packs I have run through my 10/22 and sig p226 classic .22 the 555 works the best for me. Now if I can only find them in stock aroung calgary

They just upped their price from $89.99 for the 2100 rds. Ive found the stuff for cheaper, unless you want the ammo can. I'm experiencing problems with my rifle ejecting cartridges.... the blazers seems to be the best out of the bunch of federal bulk, mini-mags, american eagle etc...

What are these 555 bulk packs you speak of and how much were they? In Wally World, I`ve seen the 333 in Winchester and the Federal 525`s but never the 555`s. The Federal 525`s were around $24.50/box about the most expensive for bulk in Wally World.

The 555 is the same ammunition as the 333 just with a few more rounds in the box. Here thy sell for $20 last time I bought them. There won't be a next time for me either as that is the only 22lr ammo I have had shell casings blow the rim off in the gun.

Awww the winchesters. The first and last bulk pack I bought was the Winchester xpert somthing in a box of 500. They were all right, but not as accurate as the Winchester SuperX powerpoint HP`s that I paid dearly for. Close to $9/100, but are they ever nice and very accurate.
My next purchase is the Federal 525`s.

Major Sights has it right,

Find out what your gun likes and get that.

My 10/22 HATES Federal Bulk, Loves CCI Standard Velocity (might not work well for 200 yards though) and Winchester 333/555 Bulk. I stocked up on CCI SV 'cause I'm not going for 200 yards. At 50 yards and my skill level Win 555 and CCI SV shoot about the same. At 100 yards, CCI SV is somewhat better.

Find out what she likes before committing to 5K rounds.

I thought standard velocity was better than high velocity 'cause of how 22lr destabilizes when it goes from sonic to subsonic? read that on the internets though...
