Today I finally took my new 870 out to play.My very first shot I took the damn sight at the end of the barrel popped off , and landed right in the snow!! Tell me the right way to fix it , glue , epoxy ,duct tape? The rest of the day was great almost 100 rounds of slug and birdshot mix and probably 200 rounds on my .22!!

Anyone have any ideas how to properly stick this on??

It's a dovetail, you hammer it in Right to left using a brass punch and hammer. If fit isn't tight enough you need to use a sharp steel punch to expand the metal on male dovetail.

Use a flat faced punch. Tap the top edge of the base dovetail down. One light tap front, one light tap rear. For appearances, do not tap the edges where it is visible.

Go easy on the taps, a little goes a long ways. I usually add a bit of Loctite 290 also, though it's not really needed.

It's new so I'd take it back. They'll either replace it or have it fixed/installed using the methods described above.
