So im not into the ar15 game. Love my jrc though but i have several friends and co workers who question the ar15 platform. So im thinking of picking one up for a range toy to let them try it so im looking for a cheap no frills ar. I see andersons go for about $700 new.
Stripped lowers and uppers can be had for $80 a piece.
So is it better to just buy a cheap ar or try to piece one together? Also if i were to buy an anderson stripped upper and lower could i buy a bolt group for 6.5 grendel or am i stuck with 223/5.56? The grendel is a new interest

Any suggestions would be great. Again im not into ar platforms so my knowledge is basic function

Black Friday sales on right now, you cannot go wrong with a S&W M&P, I think a few sponsors have them on for around $650 right now. You won't regret it, fine rifle for the money and an excellent into to AR's. Buy a built one first, and once you have played around with it and learned the platform try building your second lol :)

They seem to be quite popular. I was at gotenda earlier today, and they sold a few while I was looking around. Picked one up as well.
