Help:Broken .223 shell in barrel

I have tried somewhat with a broken shell extractor but have not had any luck, just keeps pulling out. Are there any other ideas, or any comments on how to use the broken shell extractors more properly. should it be jerked out or pulled out. Thanks for the help.
 
This may or may not work... take a new .22 caliber brush on a rod... insert it through the action and when you feel it contact the neck of the case, only push it another inch, then pull the rod back out... sometimes the new brush bristles being forced over like that will pull the case out...
 
One way I have done it is to turn a threading tap of the proper size into the case and tap it out with a cleaning rod from the muzzle end. Be advised that this method is not for idiots, but does work very well .
 
I've had the same problem ..once! and I used the threading tap method too and it worked but be careful, you don't want to damage the chamber:(

If you have a 30-calibre bronze brush, one thing that's worked for me before is to stick a cleaning rod down the bore from the muzzle, thread the brush on from the chamber end, then pull the brush tightly into what's left of the case. Then, give the muzzle end of the rod a quick smack, and it should pop it out, since the bristles are all pointing rearwards. HTH.
