Help! Buffer Spring Detent fell in the wrong way!

The detent is spring loaded and held in by the buffer tube lip. Once you unscrew the buffer tube it will come flying out. They are not tight so it should come out easily with tweezers or magnet. Did you loose the tiny spring too?

I would becareful using heat as it may discolour your finish

The close fit can create a vacuum, a magnet pulling slowly can allow air to move under the plunger while it is being withdrawn.

Got it out. Shaved down an unsharpened pencil. Worked like a charm. Didn't loose the spring.

sometimes oil makes things sticky. i was gonna tell you to degrease the hole and it should fall right out but yea you got it out so itz all good
