Was going to buy a ecaller locally but they dont have any right now, so Im probly going to order a Foxpro electronic caller online.

Mostly thick brush in this part of NWO, will also hunt older cuts and power line cuts as well. Most shots will likly be 100yds or under... However in the cuts they could get out to 200yds or so.

Coyotes, Wolfs, Fox.

Considering the Foxpro Hellfire or Crossfire. Kinda like the Hellfire costwise, but also like the Crossfire with its capability to have a decoy mounted right to it.

Are there any other models that I should consider that wont brak the bank?

the wildfire would be a good alternative as well, and you can mount a decoy to it similar to the crossfire. I have one and have called several yotes in with it. My one complaint with it is the remote range is less than I would like, I'm sure the crossfire would be an improvement in this department but you pay for it $$ wise.

Have you got a decoy mounted on it? What kinda range are you getting with the remote? Do you find it load enough?

Thanx,

I wouldn't get hung up too much on the decoy option. Decoys can be a bit of a mixed blessing, but on those occasions you want one, you can use one not linked to the caller.

I have the Hellfire and like it. I got it for the volume and it is pretty loud. When cranked up you can hear it echo down the valley, so I know they can hear me calling.

My only complaint is the remote range is like only 50yds on mine.

my Hellfire has a decoy port, awkward spot at the back of the unit though. If you use the decoy you pretty much have to point the speaker at the ground. great sound and volume just the same.

I have their entry level one - 200'ish at Cabelas - and it has worked well for me to date. also a good way to find out if it's something you want to take to the next step up to

I have the Hellfire. I like it a lot. Try a Black Jack decoy with it. They offer a lot of value for the modest price.

I have a Fury 2 ( discontinued I think)

Very good call. I was using it last evening in 50km winds and it was -32. Had the caller about 60 yards away downhill, I could change sounds without even having to pick up the remote, Just hit buttons on my lap and it would work. Very loud call, I could hear the neighbours dog barking back (400 yards away upwind) so if he could hear it then I think its loud enough.

I have a bloodhound caller. lots of built in calls, room to load more personal mp3 calls, remote control, can control decoy. loud, in my basement, haven't tried it outside yet. picked it up on amazon.com as a damaged box special.

We sell alot of the Wildfires, they are excellent for the money and for brushy areas offer ample volume. I find the small size is an asset when doing multiple stands also very little to go wrong externally.

I hang a piece of deer hide close by to draw the coyotes eye away from the call.

I use a separate decoy so I can hang the caller above the ground and that greatly increases the remote range and sound distance, also reduces the possibility of shooting at a several hundred $$ caller if the animal runs right up to it.

OP's hunting area sounds much like here, no open fields and there would always be a sapling or something to hang it up from.

Wildlife technologies. Best quality of sound call on the market. Friend of mine has a wildlife management business and he speaks very highly of them. He is the kind of guy that if he puts his word behind something, I'm sold.

I just purchased the Fox Pro Fusion. It's my first electronic call, so far it's quite loud and has good sound quality. It came preloaded with 100 sounds, so I have not tried downloading anymore. I think it can hold 1000 sounds. I bought it for coyotes and going to try it out for bears to. I'm still trying to figure out all the options on it as the controller could probably control a Russian satellite. It's easy to navigate, but it just has a lot of features on it. Overall I'm pleased with it, and fox pros reviews are always positive. There also built in the US and not China. They are more expensive than others, but as the saying goes you only get what you pay for. Just my 2 penny's........

Darcy is probably one a short list of top Worldwide animal control experts. didn't Darcy assist WT with recording some of their sounds?
