Morning all. All right so my plan is to cut the front sight off my DA556. Now I have done some reading and found that guys are using dremels. Now I have access to one my question is there any one in the shilo area with experience who wouldn't mind walking me through it. Thanks for your time and help all

Its easy peasy.

- Use a cutting disc to buck off the sight tower, above the portion that houses the gas tube
- Then use a sanding or grinding wheel to reshape the top, following the contours of the gas tube housing
- lately, refinish however you like

Just don't cut into any of the important bits...

I've given up wasting time with my Dremel to do this. I just go straight for the angle grinder for most of the work and fine stuff with the Dremel.

Here's a few pics of one I did a while ago. This one is all done with an angle grinder and cut-off wheel.
