So I've narrowed it down to these two handguns. I have shot the Glock and handled the Beretta. I have no plans on getting into shooting competitions etc. I do plan on taking a handgun shooting course thos spring. Just want a solid accurate semi 9mm that will eat almost any ammo and last a long time and be reliable. Currently I just have a S&W 357 and have had an SR9 in the past.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

At the risk of getting flamed....if it's style you're after, go beretta...they are sweet to look at....but if I was going to bet my life...go Glock.....jmho

The Glock is a better firearm hands down.

BUT

If you are brand new to handguns and have no experience with them.. Do you really want a handgun that has no external safety and will always go bang if the trigger is pulled?

There are advantages and disadvantages to a handgun that will always go bang when the trigger is pulled and there are advantages and disadvantages to a handgun that has a safety switch that can be activated that prevents to gun from going off if the trigger is pulled.

For a brand new shooter, I'd lean towards preventing accidental discharges over getting rounds off quickly

I've had both and found the 92FS was more accurate. I found racking the slide with the C clamp method unfavourable with the beretta due to the decocking lever. It gets in the way in my opinion. Tough choice. I'd go with a P226 if you want 9mm and if you just want a nice handgun to shoot the Colt 1911 is it.

Really need to try a CZ.
sp-01 Shadow specifically.
It upped my game big time.
If you are target shooting, I don't see the advantage of a striker fired pistol.
Glock is more of a duty gun. I hated the trigger.
