Looking for help on deciding which scope would be best. I am mounting it on my replica C-3 308. I am trying to decide between a couple.

1. Bushnell 6500 4.3-30x50 with turrets,Mil dot reticle.

2. Bshnell 6500 2.5-16x50 no turrets, Mil dot reticle.

3. Bushnell 4200 6-24x50 With turret , Mil dot reticle.

Any inf will be great.
Thanks Redneck

The 6-24 has a very minimal amount of elevation adjustment, something like 28 minutes or thereabouts. I wouldn't buy one for LR shooting. I don't know anything about the 6500s.

I believe Alberta Tactical Rifle sells Nightforce scopes that are world renown. I saw a video on youtube lately with a Blackwater mercenary sniper in Iraq and he was using a Nightforce scope. :)

Your first choice scope posted has 50 MOA or less adjustment, it is very unclear at 30 X and there are no hash marks on the post. I have one and am looking to buy another to make a matching pair of bookends.

I know nothing about number 2 option but number 3 is the best choice of # 1 and # 3 as I have both.

There are other options you might want to consider depending on your application but do your self a favor and avoid the 6500 4.3 to 30.

I have #3 on an AR-15, was on a 1000 yd 6 BR with a 20 min. rail. Very nice scope, probably the best one for the investment.
If you,ve got up to or around $1500 Consider the Nightforce B/R model.
I've got one of the NXS's and one of the B/R's both 42x, both fantastic scopes.
You,ll only buy them once and never sell em.
Remember you can't shoot what you can't see.

sorry, Matt, but you are wrong.....they are in Okotoks :) and right, these guys are owesome....
I had a problem with my scope and they fix it for nothing :)))) great customer service and great product :)

With any variable scope, you need a thirty mm tube to get enough elevation adjustment. I use a 6-24 Weaver on one "F" class rifle and it requires an adjustable base to give me sufficient elevation adjustment to reach 900m. Apart from that, the scope is just fine.
The Bushnell 6500 may well be a good choice.
Nightforce scopes are great scopes but are big, heavy, and priced high. They are optically great though and mechanically rugged. I would probably have one if, like the Blackwater sniper, I wasn't spending my own money!
If the goal is to hit a target and have the scope respond to adjustments as required, any number of scopes will do the job. The Bushnells represent good value. The Leupolds are a North American product which counts for something (although the Americans apparently regard us as a terrorist threat) and the Nightforce scopes are a great example of conspicuous consumption which also works real well. Regards, Bill.

Leupold vx111 8.5-25x50--94MOA
sightron SIII 6-24x50--100MOA
SIII 8-32x50--70MOA
Burris Black Diamond 6-24x50--52MOA
XTR 6-24x50--79MOA(only 29MOA windage)
Bushnell 4200 6-24x50T--50MOA
6500 4.5-30x50T-50MOA

there are other much more expensive ones but for the prices these are pretty good. if your only shooting from 800-1000m there are some good fixed power scopes as well that could work for you. personaly i like a variable power so i can shoot at whatever distance i want.

I use have 2 of option #3 ,elite 4200 6-24x50T for the price it is a good scope, I needed a 20 moa base in order to reach 880-1000yds with .308 175 SMK. I also have 2 of the 10x,elite 3200mildot ,and I am real happy with those as well and for around $240!! If money was no object well then I think I would try a Nightforce. I can hit my targets consistently with the 6-24x50T setup, and hitting your target is what it's all about not how much your equipment .Plus now I have 4 rifles with decent scopes on ,all with the same turrets.
