Help decode this one ? Type 99

I believe this is a series 45 .
But the serise dont line up with the 7000+ serial number
It also has a rear sight that is not the fixed version i would have expected
The stock but plate is metal , but that coulda been swapped out.

Kinda stumped what i have.


Rough finish on trigger gaurd , consistent with late war production



Fast lathe work shown by the grooves. ..built in a hurry


No front sight ears is consistent with late war production

There is a kind of reverse looking s to the right of the circles , not showing in the pic :-(

Definitely a last ditch type made at Kokura arsenal. Just look at that ugly
weld on the striker. Blech... I'm surprised it still has the raceways for the action cover at that late stage. Th "rough finish on triggergaurd" I doubt has to do with production. It looks like it was heavily rusted at one point. Interesting piece though.

Trying to find a stock for it.
from what I read about these , the upper handgaurd is not a requirement to make it period correct
