Did I purchase the wrong size?
Comp won’t go all the way and the diameter is bigger than the barrel.

Comp options are .920” or .820”.

There’s nothing in the 12.5” barrel that mentions.820” so I assumed that the .920” will fit. And yet here I am. 😂
Am I missing something here? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sucks that Dlask doesn’t respond to questions about their items. They just let you figure it out yourself.

Looks like the threads bottom out inside the comp. How many thread is that holding on with right now?

Did they send the wrong one? Looks like the .820 would sit flush. Unless something wrong in the thread in the liner comp!

From the Dlask website:

The O.D. of the barrel is .820″. We sell the thread protectors and our XB-5 linear compensators for this barrel here

Odd that it won’t go on all the way. Isn’t it hollow?

Whoa! Where did you see that it says OD is .820? Look at the description i posted. Nothing says .820. I probably didn’t see it and bought the .920”. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yeah, it bottoms out. That’s the max it can go.

I think barrel is .820”. I got .920”. 🤦🏻‍♂️

That doesn’t seem correct. Could add a crush washer but it might not be enough

I would say it should thread on all the way

I don't see that under any of the 12.5 barrel descriptions, Sucks thats $70 plus shipping.

Sometimes there are burrs inside the comp. When I picked up mine from Dlask, Joe took it in the back and de-burred it for me. That’s most likely the problem. If you have a 1/2-28 tap just run it through, a small wire brush might also work. Their carbon fiber barrels are .820 diameter

I don’t mind it not flush. Seam will be inside the handguard. I hope you’re right that it’s only burr.

so annoying. I thought the build will be done this week. Now i have to get wire brush or have it taped as I don’t have this tool. 🤦🏻‍♂️

If it was mine, I'd try something like a bit of oil on an old toothbrush, might dislodge what ever is causing the interference. Work the comp back and forth . If that's successful, decrease with methyl hydrate. Just tried both .820 and .920 Dlask comps on a .820 barrel no issues.
Good Luck

My DLASK TUF22 take-down 9" CF barrel has an OD of .625 and I've been looking for a comp to fit.
When I was checking their site I noticed a 2" comp with OD.820 which I almost bought. The description indicates it "fits our TUF-22 Carbon Fiber wrapped barrels seamlessly on the outer diameter to give them a sleek, finished look". Numbers don't add up imo.
p@3ck....hopefully you get everything sorted out.

the .820 one fits both my dlask take down barrels perfectly. I'm sure they are .820. I'll measure when I get home.

I would appreciate that!
Been holding off buying the .820 Comp thinking it would sit proud on my TD CF barrel according to DLASK's specs.....

I think there is something in the threads of the compensator - like burrs or some sort of machining residue - that is interfering with it seating properly. Mine fully threads in and seats with zero issues, smooth as silk, on a .920. Take a good look inside and maybe clean it up and see how it works.

Dlask saying they machine the barrel blanks to .625 pencil or straight profile is what’s misleading you. They sleeve the carbon fiber on afterwards and that brings the OD. to .820. You’ll need the .820 comp for your CF barrel.

I would also order anything else you’ve been wanting or wishing for from them as they will be completely shut down and retired by February- March 2026 at the latest.

Also their store hours have changed. Joe and Mila only work Tuesday-Friday 10am-2pm these days. I’m sure they’re closed for the holidays now.

Diameter of the comp is cosmetic, the barrel and comp will both be 1/2"x28 and will go together regardless.
As mentioned earlier i think you have a burr preventing it from fully threading on.
I couldn't find any taps of that thread locally, so you might want to visit a gunsmith for a quick job. Or see if you can borrow one on the EE.

I had a comp from another company that was totally threaded wrong and wouldnt fit any barrel.

Cheapest I found. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Might as well de-burr it the right way?
I’ll check if I can remedy it before purchase.

Thanks everyone!!! Appreciate it.
