I am refinishing an old shotgun. I am planning on using Duracoat because there are a couple of pits in the barrel that are too deep to sand out. This gun has an intricate game scene engraved into the receiver. Currently the low spots of the engraving are in a matte finish, and the highs are regular bluing. How do I replicate this with duracoat? I am using a "gun blue" color on the whole gun, but was hoping to do the low spots of the engraving in a matte to replicate the original. Can this be done? If so how? It would be impossible to mask the game scene.
