I am wondering if anyone can provide any information about an old shotgun I have. I recently purchased it from someone who had inherited the gun. They knew nothing about it and had never fired the shotgun. From what I can find it is an American Gun Company Victor single shot 12 gauge and was made sometime in the 1930’s or earlier.

I am mostly curious if it is safe to fire modern 2 ¾” 12 gauge shells in this gun. I will have a gun smith look at the shotgun prior to using it the first time; however I don’t want to spend the money on a gun smith if there is no chance this can be used with modern shells.

Sorry about the upside down photos. The image hosting sight I use insisted on flipping some of the pictures and I cannot figure out how to fix it.

Thanks

it looks fine to shoot just go over the barrels make sure there are no bulges or cracks or splits .if the action locks up tight you should be fine with some light game loads lead shot Dutch
