Hello all, I am going to be in the market for a new scope in the next few months, I intend to build a budget target/hunting rifle with this years tax return. I really want a mil dot reticle to learn on, and I am stuck on it, but I'm having a hell of a time finding a variable power scope with the mil dot reticle and mil turrets, seems like everything is mil/moa and I really have no intentions of going that route. I'm looking for something in the 3-9/4-12/4-16 range since it'll be a dual purpose rifle. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm looking to stay right around $500. Also not concerned if it's a SFP, that doesn't bother me.
Thank you in advance!

Sorry to say but I think you are SOL in that price range. I have been researching scopes for a build I'm doing now and cant recall seeing anything in a mildot ret and mil turrets in that price range.
But I hope I'm wrong and you find something

Ah, I was hoping that wasn't the case and that I had just somehow missed something. Real shame no one produces on in that range, a vortex diamondback or crossfire 2 with those would be ideal. I saw the Falcon 4-14x44 at frontier but im unsure of their warranty and not being close to inspect before buying is a huge turn off. As is I have an hour an a half drive to Cabela's and bass pro, that's about as far as I would want to go

Not true. Look for an older leupy vari 4.5 to 14x mil dot gold ring with target turrets, should be right around your price. I'll post pictures of mine if you are interested. Oops it is mil/moa but for under $500 who gives ####:p

If there was someway to get one out of the US you could go with a Bushnell Elite fixed 10 by 40. Midway is the only one that sells them as mil mil.. Or swfa. Falcon optics and Millet I think could be choices but I've heard mixed reviews on them. I'm in the same position as you. Noob at long range shooting and not overly wealthy. I bit the bullet and bought a vortex pst, sfl. For 900$. Name of the game I guess. I'll be drinking the cheapest beer I can find for New Years....

I would say john is right up your alley in that price range.
