The best way I've found to crimp with jacketed bullets is this.
Put the crimp die in the press just a bit and run an uncrimped round up into it. The bullet is seated to the correct length already of course. With the ram all the way to the top screw the die down just until it touches the case mouth. Then lower the ram and screw the die down 3/4's to one full turn. Lock it up and your crimp is set. Only about half a turn for cast bullets.
Also it seems to work best if you seat and crimp in separate stations.
Your charge may be a bit light, but other than that it sounds good.
