Hey Guys

I was wondering if low rings with a M3 3.5X10X40 tactical scope would clear high enough for scope caps. It would be mounted on a LTR

Thanks for the help

I think it depends on the manufacturer. I have a Mark 4, 3.5-10x40 LR/T M3 on a Rem 700 (SA) and use Mark 4 Medium Rings. I have a H-S Precision Pro Series 2000 HTR in 308 with the a/m scope in M1 turrets and used TPS Low rings. Whatever you decide, check with manufacturer first would be my advise.

Thanks guys

I checked with Leupold and they could not give me a 100% answer,so
I will get medium to be on the safe side.

Thanks again

I'd be 99.9999% sure you'd be fine with low rings if you went with tps. Their lows are somewhat higher than others.

Mediums will give you more height than you need. You're only talking about a 40mm objective here not 50mm or 56mm so using anyone's low rings will be best.

You haven't mentioned what scope base you will be using which will play a factor in overall height of the scope and what ring selection would be appropriate.

If you're considering TPS products, TPS lows will work for sure on a (1) piece rail style base. TPS lows are close to other manufacturers' medium height rings. TPS super-lows might even be a viable option depending on the set up.

Yes Go with the Meds, The lows did not fit my Tic Tack with the M 4.
Its still pertty low down on the barrel.
Not sure about the 700 with that scope, but the low ring would not clear the sendaro with weaver bases and low rings with a 1 inch x 44 mm redical scope.! was just to snug, close but no go.

The scope is a leupold 4.5-14 40mm LR M1 mounted in low Leupold PWR rings. Barrel is a Rem varmint contour (used to be an LTR, before I rebarreled, and fit fine). Just about perfect if you ask me. I would urg you to go with low rings. They will clear, and mediums will keep your cheek weld higher than it should be. Good shooting starts w/ good mechanics, and cheek weld is among the most inportant, IMHO

Amen, to that.
