Ok so bought myself a new Gen 4 glock 22. I can not stand the trigger feels like a 25 lb pull drives me crazy so was wondering what are my options to bring that pull weight down but keep the ultimate reliability Also looking for a source for factory extended slide release as well as a larger mag release something I don’t have to break my grip to drop my mag I have weird sized hands lol

Ya I know the 25lb part is out there lol but damn it feels like I could tie a rope to the trigger wedge the thing in a crack in a rock face and climb down the rope and gun probably would still not fire it just feels that bad. Now Iam use to sweet triggers on my 1911 pistols like my sti guns.

I have been playing around on the glock store watching some videos and may order there black ice 3.0 connector along with a factory Gen 3 trigger and do some polishing seems that will get me where I want to be

what trigger spring do you have in it?

Coil or flat plastic coloured one? if coloured it'll be green or orange

duty triggers are nothing compared to tricked out 1911 triggers.

Glock "minus" connector for ultimate reliability, I like the custom fitted connectors with over travel stop personally but they are not as reliable as OEM Glock parts. A good trigger kit will come with matching connector and springs.

I'd say 1911 triggers are a crutch for people with bad fundamentals ;)

Lol for some maybe that’s the case but all my 1911 pistols all are equipped with their factory triggers nothing changed. Even my Sam commander special has the original insides and I shoot all of them just fine. Like I said I have weird hands large palms but kinda shorter on the fingers. For me the 1911 just feels like it was purposely designed from the get go for me. I shoot the glock ok but I can do much better my buddy shot it and he loves the glock factory trigger he owns a few all stock and he even said that my trigger is kinda crappy only pistol I have an aftermarket trigger in is my ruger .22 Gen 4 with again 1911 grip frame and it has a tandem cross triger

Honestly I tend not to mess around with triggers too much bar changing a connector. Issued pistol has to remain stock so I try to keep my personal as close to it as possible - the nice things about Glocks is they all have the same trigger and ergos.

as already mentioned, you can get the Glock "-" (minus) connector. Just understand, that a Glock trigger will never be a 1911 trigger. 1911 is a single action pistol while Glock is a true double action only pistol. the striker both cocks and fires with one pull of the trigger

Boltgun

Glock performance trigger is currently only available for Gen5. (edit: oops, boltgun beat me to it...lol)

Timney is nice but there are some reliability compromises.

For Gen4, if OP has no plan to switch the mag release button to the right side (for left hand person), then the best option while maintaining reliability is the combination of factory Gen3 Trigger (with trigger bar) + factory Minus connector mentioned above. This is the best factory trigger pull you can get for pre-gen5 glocks without messing around with other parts such as FB spring, striker spring, trigger return spring.

But I think the 25lb OP is referring to is that distinct tactile feeling of Glock trigger pull. Some ppl love it some ppl hate it. If you are already used to 1911/sti/cz trigger pulls, you might perceive the glock trigger pull as very clunky. It's just the nature of the beast and very hard to get pass that no matter what factory or aftermarket upgrades.

just to confirm, are you suggesting putting a gen 3 trigger in a gen 4 gun? thats a big no no. there are noticeable differences that may cause an unsafe trigger set up.

Yes, but only if the mag release stays on the left side (ie. factory setting for right hand shooters). In this configuration the Gen3 TWTB will act in same way as the Gen4 TWTB. However, if the mag release is switched to the right side (for left hand shooters), it would pull the magazine towards the inner right side of the frame. The magazine would in turn pushes the trigger bar towards the right side, which could potentially render the trigger bar movement out of alignment from deactivating the firing pin black. I forgot the nomenclature but it's the peak portion on the trigger bar that pushes up the FB block as the shooter pulls the trigger. That's why Gen4 TWTB has a dimple on that spot, to keep it in alignment.

I see what you're saying, in other words though, it wouldn't be supported by the factory if things went south.
