Help, I may need an intervention!

I like your post, made me think back to the day I bought my first semi auto to keep. I have had a couple of others but like the one I have now. First off I started shooting with air rifles and pistols. Im one of those shooters that just enjoys the accuracy of my guns not the boom boom boom etc. So when I got into handguns I picked up a GP100, then a shorter one had a CZ 75 for a bit then sold it. I then got into IDPA, 3 gun and steel challenge. I got sort of tired of being at the bottom of the board with my revolver so picked up a Norincolt 1911a in 9mm. I more or less picked the 1911 format since I have an air pistol (HW45) I have shot for years which shares the same shaped frame. It feels very natural to me and I shoot it well with action sports not a match gun but can hit well. I look back now sort of wishing I had not sold the CZ75 as it shares a similar frame shape as the 1911 which I am sure you would appreciate. It may be the pistol for you. I should also mention as a 3 gun/IDPA shooter I have seen very few issues with the CZ, Glock, and Sig pistols. The S&W M&P seems to be a pistol many competitors pick up and then get something else later. I will add they seem to work just great but need to be kept clean. Friend of mine had an early one never cleaned it and often had issues with it. Let me muddy the waters a little more as a 1911 shooter i have shot Glocks a few times and being used to a straight grip the barrel of a Glock seems to point up when I hold it. I would think this would transfer to pushing the muzzle down for a good sight picture and then having less muzzle flip on firing. I have shot a few I would probably get one.

I’m sure they’re great guns but Glocks just don’t have the requisite curb appeal for me.
Try not to make the mistake of judging a handgun by its looks, you HAVE to shoot a handgun. You may find the gun you didn’t like the look of is actually the gun you shoot the best, and that’s what it’s all about.
If it’s a Glock so be it,, even an ugly child is loved by someone:)

Nibe,

I read in another thread that you used to own a Walther P99. If so you have already owned a striker fired pistol.

Dug out the old receipt from 18yrs ago. It's interesting that I paid more then than I would pay today from a dealer, what with inflation etc. And that was a bit of a deal I think - although that was for the 40cal.

Plastic striker fire pistols are simple and boring. Nothing to look at twice, and nothing to tinker with. Don't do it.

I agree, got a camo p250 in a package deal, not sure why they exist, have to make myself shoot it. It’s accurate but I really don’t get why DAO. Would it be a safety thing for carry??
